Losing weight with Thai food!

Losing weight with Thai food!

When talking about losing weight most people tend to think about weightless programs. Programs that work while you’re on them but often require a complete change in diet to one that often is tasteless leaving you crave for “normal” food. Others require you to drink protein drinks that mildly speaking do not take care of your craving for food. You struggle to stay on the program and might even be costing you while making plenty of promises. Think about how many times you have been on a diet and how many times you have bounced right off and gained the lost weight.

Instead, the core issue should be addressed and that is unless you learn to substitute the poor diet with something that is healthy AND tastes good (or better) your chances of success are small. Through this Blog and posts on our social media pages, our goal is to help you change the bad habits with healthy habits while still giving you the sensation of loving what you eat. To ensure you don’t’ miss out you can subscribe to our newsletter at the bottom of this page.

I have had the pleasure of traveling to Thailand the past 20 years for both business and pleasure, have probably spent about 1.5+ years in the wonderful country of smiles, and made some wonderful friends. In those 20 years, I have followed the rapid development of the country’s economy. This has led to more wealth amongst the population that increasingly are eating foreign foods and specially western foods and soft drinks. Thailand is now second to Malaysia when it comes to obesity in South East Asia.

While in Thailand I have had the pleasure of tasting much of their dishes and simply love their food. They have so many fantastic dishes that are simply mouthwatering and the best part is that they are healthy and do not cause obesity. Better yet they are actually really easy and fast to make at home. Ingredients used in Thai cooking are very beneficial to health, one common Thai dish, Tom Yum Soup has been under scientific study for its incredible health benefits. Many of the herbs, spices and ingredients that go into Thai and Asian cooking have disease fighting and immune system boosting properties.

If you are serious about losing weight Thai food is a great way for you, while eating food that tastes fantastic but will not leave you in the kitchen for hours either. This is not like any weight program you’ve tried before and I’m not going to make unrealistic promises of a 8 week program, but instead we are looking realistically long-term and ensuring you succeed. By substituting unhealthy food with healthy food you will find that you’ll start to lose weight.

The first dish that I’d like to include is one of my very favorites and is called Gaeng Khiew Waan Gai and will take you about 15-20 minutes to make.

Most of these dishes will to begin with take you a bit longer but with time, you will spend less than 30 minutes. I actually always start with putting the rice in the rice cooker, as the dish usually will be completed before the rice.

All you need to do is go to an Asian food store and buy some of the basic ingredients. In the first recipe found further below I will also specify the basic ingredients because once you have them you really have the ingredients to make a number of dishes.

Please, feel free to drop us a comment or question either at the end of this article or through the support tab in you lower left corner. Please share this article and I hope that you enjoy this dish as much as I do.
